In March 2018, CCHF All About Kids made a deed of gift to The Outward Bound Trust, bringing together two charities with a combined heritage of over 200 years.
Through this deed of gift, the organisations are able to have a greater impact on young people and their future lives. It has also supported both charity’s aim to engage with young people from more diverse socio-economic backgrounds, broader age groups and wider geographical areas.
The
Outward Bound Trust was selected as its ethos was shared with CCHF. The
charity’s commitment to help young people learn and grow through
wilderness
adventures in the UK’s most challenging landscapes particularly
resonated.
CCHF
ceased to exist in its traditional form in 2018 but two of the
charity’s trustees joined the Outward Bound board to help ensure
continuity and
sharing of expertise. To recognise the deed of gift, Outward Bound
renamed their unrestricted bursary fund which supports children from
disadvantaged backgrounds: The Outward Bound CCHF Bursary Fund.
CCHF funds and ongoing legacies will be used to provide financial assistance to enable young people to attend a learning and adventure programme with Outward Bound.
CCHF’s legacy lives on through Outward Bound.
